Quetta traders, transporters call for shutter down strike on June 5

QUETTA: Traders and transporters’ communities have jointly decided to observe a province-wide shutter down and vehicle jam strike on Jun 5th against the non recovery of a kidnapped trader, who was abducted from Mastung Town, some 50 kilometers from the provincial capital, seven days ago.

Earlier, the Anjuman-e-Tajran Balochistan took out a protest rally from Mizan Chwak and after marching various roads of the city held a demonstration before the Quetta Press Club.

The protestors were carrying placards and banners inscribed with their demands. They chanted slogans against the provincial government for its failure to maintain peace in the province.

Addressing the protestors, President of Anjuman-e-Tajran, Rahim Kakar has said that people of Balochistan were living under panic following the increasing incidents of kidnapping for ransom and target killings. “Government was failed to take action against the culprits involved in such crimes,” he said adding that if the kidnapped trader was not recover soon they would take more severe steps. He announced that trader will observe shutter down and vehicle jam strike on June 5th in the province against the failure of government to trace out the kidnapers. He said strike would be continued till the recovery of trader. He said that traders had a meeting with transporters and they also supported the strike call.
