Shahzain holds “agencies” responsible for lawlessness in Balochistan
QUETTA: The provincial president of Jamori Watan Party (JWP) Nawabzada Shahzain Bugti has held the state intelligence agencies responsible for the growing lawlessness in Balochistan and ruled out the possibility of Indian involvement in the affairs of Balochistan.
Addressing a press conference at the Bugti House here on Sunday, he strongly rejected the claims of government that military operation had been halted in Balochistan, saying that the incumbent government was also toeing the policies of former dictator Pervez Musharraf.
“Excesses against innocent Balochs are continued while military operation is also taking place in Dera Bugti and some other parts of Balochistan”, he alleged, adding “ security forces are violating the sanctity of Baloch houses and hundreds of innocent Balochs have been arrested in fake cases”.
Shahzain Bugti, a grandson of Nawab Mohammad Akbar Bugti, alleged that Dera Bugti had become a “no-go- area” and the media was not being allowed to visit the area and apprise people about the reality.
“Around 40,000 Balochs have taken refuge in Afghanistan owing to the atrocities of government and facing a lot of difficulties”, he added.
He regretted over the incidents of target killings and alleged that government agencies were involved in these incidents and through a well-planned policy situation of Balochistan was being spoiled. “If Baloch Liberation Army or any other group is involved in target killings then why government is not arresting them”, he questioned, and added that incumbent rulers were ineligible who had come into power after striking a deal with a dictator.
JWP leader said that issue of Balochistan could not be solved by Aghaz-e-Haqooq Balochistan Package, if federal government was serious to solve Balochistan issue it should change its way of thinking. “If alleged atrocities remained continued against Balochistan, it would be difficult for Pakistan to survive”, he remarked.
Responding to a question regarding involvement of Indian hands behind deteriorating law and order of Balochistan, he strongly rejected it, and urged that if government had any proof against India it should be produced before the people.
To yet another query, Shazain said that Dera Bugti was under control of security forces and they would go to their forefather’s area with other Bugti tribesmen who had migrated after military operation. Ends
