Six injured in Quetta bomb explosion

QUETTA: At least six persons, including three policemen and three bomb disposal squad officials, were injured in an explosion in Quetta city on Monday.

Police officials said a man spotted a rocket in a graveyard of Kaichi Beig area of Saryab and informed the police.

Police and Bomb Disposal Squad rushed to the site to defuse the rocket. A bomb was also planted near the rocket that went off with a huge explosion when police and Bomb Disposal Squad started efforts to defuse rocket. As a result of blast six officials received splinter wounds.

The injured were identified as Station House Officer (SHO) of Shalkhot police, Javed Iqbal, Constable Mohammad Nisar, Muneer, Naseer Khan, Ifthiqar and Mohammed Ramzan.

The injured were taken to CMH for treatment. One of the injured Police man identified as Muneer lost his both legs in the blast.

A case has been registered against unknown persons under ATC act and further investigations are underway.
