TTC Vice Principal shot dead in Hub

QUETTA: Yet another educationist has been gunned down in a fresh wave of “target killing” in Hub, industrial town of Balochistan, on Monday night.

Official sources said, Vice-Principal of the Technical Training Center (TTC), Chaudhary Ashfaq was on his way home in a car when unidentified armed assailants intercepted his car on RCD Highway in Hub town and sprayed volley of bullets on him. As a result of intense firing, he received fatal bullet wounds and succumbed to his injuries before reaching hospital.

On getting information, police and other personnel of law enforcement agencies rushed to the site and took the body to hospital. “Apparently it is an incident of target killing and assailants were following the movement of slain principal”, said a senior police official and added that investigations were underway to ascertain real motive behind the killing.

Hospital sources said that Chaudhary Ashfaq had received bullets on his upper part of body that caused his instant death.

Police after completing legal formalities handed over the body to heirs and kicked off a search operation in the area for the arrest of assassins. No groups has claimed the responsibility for the attack so far

It may be mentioned here that several senior teachers, including a woman professor have fallen prey to the target killings in different parts of Balochistan, including Quetta.

Condemnation: Balochistan Governor Nawab Zuliqar Ali Magsi and Chief Minister Nawab Mohammad Aslam Raisani have expressed their profound grief in two separate statements issued here on on Monday evening. They regretted the killing of the vice principal and said his killing would plunge Balochistan into ignorance. They said teachers were not harmed even during the war times but killing the teachers in Balochistan amounted to treating one’s coming generations unfairly.
