Test under AHB package held across Balochistan
QUETTA: Around 38,000 graduates and postgraduates candidate appeared in the written tests held across the province for different jobs under the Aghaz-e-Haqooq Balochistan Package on Saturday.
In Quetta city, 2359 female and 5457 male candidates appeared for the written tests conducted at Government Girls Degree College, Children Academy and Law College.
Candidates faced great difficulty owing to lack of space in the educational institutions in Quetta as thousands of people appeared in tests, which caused an hour delay.
Sources said that some 38, 000 candidates are in the run to compete for 5, 000 jobs being offered in the education sector under the first phase of said package.
Earlier, list of names of the candidates were displayed at Deputy Commissioner Offices across the province. The selection committees were comprised Deputy Commissioner, EDO Education, EDO Finance and EDO Planning of each district. Around 22 provincial secretaries have been assigned to supervise the test and interview process while divisional commissioners will also assist them.
Though a ban was impose on bringing of mobile phones in examination centers but journalists witnessed free use of mobile phones in different centers of Quetta City. Authorities concerned did not take any action against the candidates who were using mobile phones during the written test. “The question paper was easy and it was like an eight class question paper,” Mohammad Sadiq, a post graduate said adding that candidates were allowed to cheat and use mobile phones without fear of being facing any action.
Some candidates talking to this scribe said in this way all the candidates get passed in written test an easy way, which is injustice with competent students.
Meanwhile a large number of candidates staged a protest demonstration in front of the Law College Quetta alleging that their cells of mobiles were stolen as the management took all the mobile phones into custody before appearing the interview. “We want our mobile batteries back not jobs,” the slogans were echoed in the area.
According to reports reaching here, candidates boycotted the process of test and interviews in Dalbandin, Zhob and Barkhan areas of Balochistan as a protest against alleged presence of non-locals in the test. The interviews were postponed till indefinite period.
