University of Balochistan reopens

QUETTA: Academic activities at the University of Balochistan resumed on Thursday after ten days of closure following a clash between two students’ groups which left forty-six people injured.
The government had instantly decided to shut down all the universities and hostels for security reasons in the aftermath of the clash between the students’ groups.
A meeting of all students’ unions was convened here with veteran Baloch nationalist leader Dr. Abdul Hayee Baloch in chair in which all students’ bodies agreed to follow a code of conduct inside the educational institutions.
The meeting has decided that code of ethics that will be fallowed at the university campus in order to retain academic peace. The dispute has now been resolved after the willingness of both the annoyed groups to end differences.
It is recalled that clashes between students erupted in different universities and colleges of Balochistan on April 7th during which 46 students received injuries and contingents of Frontier Corps and Police had been deployed to retain peace and order.
