US ambassador Patterson meets CM Raisani

QUETTA: Anne W. Patterson, ambassador of the United States of America to Pakistan, called on Balochistan chief minister Nawab Mohammad Aslam Raisani here on Thursday.

According to an official spokesman, the US ambassador Anne W. Patterson met with Balochistan CM Raisani and discussed matters of mutual interest. She was accompanied by US Consul General in Karachi Stephen Fakan.

She also met Mohammad Aslam Bhoothani, Speaker of the Balochistan Assembly.

The state-run news agency reported, ambassador Patterson discussed with Speaker Balochistan Assembly Mohammad Aslam Bhoothani  at his chamber the overall law and order situation prevailing in the province and ongoing development projects being carried out under the aegis of the US government for the development of the province, said a press release issued here.

The Speaker briefed the US Ambassador about the history of Balochistan assembly; parliamentary matters and legislation in particular were discussed during the meeting that lasted for quite some time.

The Speaker underlined the need to further promote people-to-people contacts to bring masses of the two countries closer to each other. Bhootani  appreciated the role of the US ambassador in further promoting the existing friendly relations between Pakistan and the United States of America.
