Balochistan Constabulary made a separate force

QUETTA: The Balochistan government has decided to make the Balochistan Constabulary (BC) as a separate force.

The command and control of the Balochistan Constabulary was with the police since its establishment. The police command of the BC ignored the force and they developed contempt towards the overwhelmingly indigenous force. The problems of the BC were deliberately ignored. Keeping in view the attitude of the police commanders towards the less literate and indigenous people a Reserve Force, the new force was created by merging the Balochistan Reserve Police (BRP).

Now the government has made it a separate force with its own command and control. For this, the Balochistan budget has allocated a separate fund. The government has not only doubled the salary of the BC personnel, but also regularized 6000 work force. The government will impart proper training to BC personnel and provide modern equipment.

The BC is expected to be a significant force after proper training in mob control and can be inducted to law and order duties, particularly curbing rioting and mass agitation, with full confidence, an independent economist told newsmen.
