Balochistan government violating merit: Maulvi Asmathullah

QUETTA: Amir of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-Ideological) and Member of National Assembly  Maulvi Asmathullah has said that provincial government of Balochistan should resolve the problems of people and avoid violation of merit.

He stated this while addressing a press conference, accompanied by other members of JUI here on Tuesday.

Criticising government, he said that jobs announced for the youth of Balochistan under Aghaz-e-Haqooq Balochistan were being distributed on political basis, after setting aside the merit.

He said that law and order of Balochistan had deteriorated to an alarming situation as kidnapping for ransom, target killing and other crimes had become the routine of the day.

He said that it was the responsibility of government to ensure the safety of masses and their property and if they could not do so then they had not justification to remain in the power.

JUI-I leader said that, agriculture was the mainstay of economy of Balochistan, but long hours of loadshedding had badly destroyed agriculture sector. “Withdrawing subsidy on electricity for agriculture, is the economical murder of the province”, he regretted and said that government did not pay proper attention towards Cyclone Phet affecttees, that inflicted colossal loss to the coastal areas.

He announced that JUI-Ideological on June 25 would take out protest rallies throughout the province in protest against the lawlessness.

Responding to a question, he said that Black Water could be involved in the incidents of target killing in the country and added that incumbent government was allegedly following the direction of US.

He urged upon the government to take serious steps for solution of the problems of people, particularly, improving law and order situation, paying heed towards agriculture and ensuring merit.
