BNP activist-cum-lawyer kidnapped in Khuzdar

KHUZDAR: Unknown kidnappers whisked away Munir Ahmed Mirwani, the secretary general of Jhalawan Bar Association on gunpoint  in Khuzdar, some 300-kilometer from provincial capital, on Thursday night.

According to sources, Mr Munir Ahmed Mirwani, who is also affiliated with Balochistan National Party (BNP), was sitting at a roadside hotel in Khuzdar when a dozen masked men appear and whisked him away at gun point. “The kidnappers took the lawyer away by car,” an official said quoting eyewitnesses.

Another lawyer Mr. Abdul Salam had to face a rough deal by the gangsters while kidnapping Mirwani at a gunpoint

Police are making all efforts to ensure safe recovery of the lawyer and arrest the culprits involved in kidnapping,  said a senior police officer.

BNP has given a call for shutter down strike in Khuzdar on Friday and The Jhalawan Bar Association announced boycott from the court proceedings to condemn the incident of hostage taking.
