BNP Rally Condemns Non-Recovery of Missing Persons
QUETTA: The Balochistan National Party (BNP) held a protest demonstration on Friday in front of the Quetta Press Club against the non-recovery of missing persons and deteriorating law and order situation in the province.
Protestors were carrying placards and banners inscribed with slogans in support of their demands. They shouted full throat slogans against the government for its failure to keep peace to protect life and honour of the people.
Addressing the demonstrators, Central Information Secretary of BNP, Agha Hassan advocate charged that party workers were being victimized by security forces because of strong stand on right of self-determination. He said lawyer Munir Ahmed Mirwani was kidnapped by armed men from the main road of Khuzdar district and he is missing to this date. He blamed the Government and its functionaries for kidnapping the lawyers and other innocent political opponents of the Government.
The BNP leader claimed that another lawyer, Mir Abdul Salam Baloch, was beaten up and insulted when he protested against the kidnapping of Mirawani.
BNP activists from a number of townships and cities of Balochistan staged similarly demonstrations condemning the kidnapping of lawyers and political activists. Such demonstrations were held in Naushki, Kharan and other parts of Balochistan.
