Doctors Seek Removal of Health Minister

The Baloch Hal News

QUETTA: The Baloch Doctors Forum representing the protesting doctors had clarified that they held no talks with the Provincial Minister of Health.

In a statement, the Forum clarified that they were holding negotiations with the Provincial Home Secretary during which the Minister for Health also came posed as if he was also participating in the negotiations during the protest on the main road.

Both Surgeon Sarwar Badini and Surgeon Ilyas Jamali had impressed upon all concerned the doctors would continue their protest strike unless the missing doctors are produced before a court of law ending their illegal and unconstitutional custody.

There were some hot exchanges of words between the protesting doctors and the Minister for Health who had been accused of all the present ills in the Health Department.

The statement reiterated the doctors demands including removal of the Provincial Health Secretary who they blamed is biased and rabid anti-Baloch and deserves no posting in any part of Balochistan.

They recalled that they had presented a charter of demands to the Chief Minister and verbally he sought time of two months for accepting all the demands. The Doctors said that the Health Minister had clearly refused to implement any of the demands.

The statement said that the Health Secretary demonstrated his racial bias by striking off the names of several talented Baloch students from the list of admission for the Bolan Medical College. The statement said that the students are protesting at the BMC for the past 15 days and no one is taking a notice to their protest against the unjust removal of names of students from the BMC list. It said that the seven students legitimately qualified and given admission on merit only.

The doctors forum clarified that they never held any negotiations with the Health Minister considering him a party to the conflict and he had victimized the Baloch doctors by denying them decent posting since he was made Minister.
