Jamali Says More Than A Dozen MPs Hold Fake Degrees in Balochistan
QUETTA: Deputy Chairman of Senate and former chief minister of Balochistan Jan Mohammad Jamali has said at least 12 members of Balochistan Assembly possess fake graduation degrees for which they could face disqualification by the courts.
Addressing a press conference, he said inquiry must be conducted about the MPAs, MNAs and senators who filed nomination papers during the elections of 2008 with fake graduation degrees because a lot of legislators possess fake documents.
He suggested that all documents of the members of the parliament should be reexamined. At least more than a dozen members of the assembly from Balochistan, both male and female, possess fake degrees.
“It is encouraging that the government is probing the fake degrees but I believe this practice should not be confined to politicians alone. A lot of people are enjoying jobs at bureaucratic positions. The degrees of government servants should also be verified because some people managed to get jobs with the help of fake documents. There are such people who are doing two jobs simultaneously—a job in one province and the other in the second province—with the help of fake documents. Therefore, degrees of all these people under doubt should be examined,” he said.
