QUETTA: Sixty three people, relatives of missing persons, have recorded their statements before the Judicial Commission during the past three days long hearing in the office of Provincial Ombudsman in Quetta.

The Commission was formed to trace and release the missing persons on the directives of Prime Minster Yusuf Raza Gilani.

While talking to media in Quetta, Chairman of Judicial Commission, Mansoor Kamal has said the Commission was given the task to trace out 97 missing persons and we had come here to record the statement of witnesses and relatives of missing people. During the three days of hearing, 63 individuals recorded their statements. Police officers of concerned jurisdiction were also present. He said so far eight people had been traced and Commission had not having complete addresses of 16 missing persons out of 97 missing people.

Inspector General of Balochistan Police and Home Secretary were also present while the statements of relatives of missing persons were being recorded.

“I had taken a list of 1100 missing persons from chairman of Voice for Baloch missing persons and we would deliberate on this list,” Mansoor Kamal said.

Former MNA Hafiz Hussain Ahmed and a senior JUI leader, also recorded his statement about Abdul Nabi Bangulzai, who he says was whisked away when he was MNA of the Constituency of Quetta-cum-Chagai and since missing.

“When family members of Mr. Bangulzai came to me and complained about his missing I talked with an officer of secret agency and he confirmed that Mr. Bangulzai was in his captivity and ensured the early and safe release of Abdul Nabi,” Hafiz Hussain Ahmed said adding that after transfer of the officer new officers who took charge expressed complete ignorance about Mr. Abdul Nabi Bangulzai and his whereabouts.

He said we have right expectations from this judicial commission that it would trace out all the missing persons and resolve the issue.

Talking to this Correspondent, Chairman of Voice for Baloch missing persons, Nasurallah Baloch said they had provided list of 1100 missing persons along with complete data. “Fifteen new cases also took place recently,” he said adding that there is no hope unless Chief Justice of the Supreme Court himself does not take notice of this case.

He claimed that around 8,000 people are missing from Balochistan and he had provided initial list and he was working further on this regard to collect the data of other missing persons.
