KECH: A Pashtun cloth vendor was killed on Tuesday by unidentified persons in Buleda area of Kech district for which the underground Baloch Liberation Froint (BLF) accepted responsibility.
According to the details, Abdul Sattar, son of Abdullah, who was reported to be a resident of Quetta, was killed by unknown attackers in Buleda area of Kech district. It was the first case of target killing of a Pashutn in Baloch areas. The BLF accepted responsibility for the killing saying that the slain person was working in the Baloch majority area as a spy.
Local sources said that cloth vendors had been warned in the past not to come in the streets and sneak inside the people’s houses under the excuse of selling clothes. Abdul Sattar used to sell clothes on his cycle while going to different parts of the town. The other sources said his killing could have been the outcome of a frustrated attempt of robbery. The local police did not give any reasons yet for the killing of the businessman. They said investigations were underway.
Pashtun businessmen in Turbat reacted angrily towards the killing of Abdul Sattar by shutting down their shops and protesting in public. They said such cases would undermine the Baloch-Pashtun relations as the murdered businessman was totally innocent.
Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Mohammad Aslam Raisani was the first to condemn the killing of Abdul Sattar in Buleda and called for brining the culprits to book.
