Pashtun traders’ relatives protest before QPC

QUETTA: The relatives of Pashtoon trader Abdul Sattar, who was killed in Buleda of Kech District, staged a protest demonstration and also brought the deceased body outside Quetta Press Club on Wednesday.

Unidentified people had shot dead Abdul Sattar in Buleda area of Kech district on Tuesday.

The protesting relatives of deceased trader were carrying placards and banners inscribed with various demands. They were also chanting slogans against government and demanding for immediate arrest of responsible elements of the murder of their loved one.

Addressing on the occasion, speakers condemned the killing of trader and said previously Pashtoons traders were also killed in Tump, Turbat and Awaran areas but no arrests were made in this connection. “As a part of a well-knit conspiracy, some forces are trying to fan differences between Baloch and Pashtoon communities”, they said and added that it was the joint responsibility of Baloch and Pashtoon to demonstrate unity and frustrate nefarious designs of hidden forces.

They also criticised government for not taking appropriate steps for the safety and security for people and added that perpetrators of Abdul Sattar and other traders should be arrested and brought to justice.

According to reports, shutter down strike was observed in Turbat and Buleda town on second consecutive day by trade community against the killing of Pashtoon trader.
