Primary school attacked in Quetta
QUETTA: A government Primary school was attacked with hand grenade on Mano Jan Road here on Tuesday morning.
Official sources said unidentified persons hurled a home-made hand grenade at school located Ahmed Shah street of Mano Jan Road. The grenade landed and exploded with a big bang in the compound of the school damaging windows and door of the school. However, no causality reported. The attackers managed to escape from the scene.
“It was the break time. All the students were outside their respective classrooms. Thus, they remained unhurt,” school principal, Zahoor Ahmed told media, adding that no organization had ever threatened the school management. The blast caused panic among the students and teachers.
Police have lodged a case against unknown people and begun investigation.
Meanwhile, unknown persons planted an explosive device on RCD highway in Kalat district on Tuesday which went off with big explosion causing no loss.
Official sources said NATO supplier was passing through the area when blast occurred but the container remained safe in the blast. It was home-made device however no loss reported in the blast. Local law enforcement agencies are making investigation.
