BLA murders SHO Mastung

MASTUNG: A Station Police Officer (SHO) was gunned down and a passer-by received bullet injuries in Mastung district of Balochistan, some 50-kilometer from the provincial capital, on Thursday afternoon, official sources said.

SHO of City Police Station, Murad Sajidi, was on his way when unidentified pillion riders opened fire on him on Masjid Road near to the City Police Station.

Resultantly, he received bullet on upper torso and died on the spot while a passer-by identified as Inayatullah sustained bullet wounds. The police personnel sitting inside the station rushed to the spot as they heard the sound of shooting, however attackers made their escape good before arrival of police force.

The dead body and the injured were taken to Civil Hospital Mastung where doctors pronounced him dead and admitting the injured for treatment.

Police cordoned off the area soon after the incident and started a search for the arrest of culprits. “The Police are carrying out search at entry and the exit points of the city,” a senior police officer said.

Meanwhile, two houses were attacked with hand grenades in Dera Bugti on Thursday, however no causality reported.

According to sources, unidentified men hurled a grenade at the house of Baz Mohammad and escaped from the scene. The grenade landed and exploded in the premises of the houses damaging the door and wall partially.

In Dera Bugti Town the house of Lal Khan was also attacked with grenade. Police are making investigations. It is recalled that the house of Lal Khan’s brother was also attacked a few days earlier in which three persons suffered injuries. It was the second attack to the same family.

The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) accepted responsibility for the killing of the police SHO.
