Suspicious husband kills young wife in Jaffarabad

JAFFARABAD: A man suspicious of his wife of allegedly having extramarital relations killed her on Monday in Jaffarabad district, police said.

According to the details, a resident of Goth Zulfiqar Khosa in Subhatpur police station area of Jaffarabad district, killed his wife, Haseena Bibi, by shooting her. When the dead body of the slain young girl was taken to the local hospital, no doctors or other staff members were present to attend her dead body to carry out required medical formalities. The dead body, eyewitnesses said, remained under blistering heat for at least four hours. The mother of the killed girl fainted over the situation and fell unconscious.

The police and medical staff carried out the postmortem of the murdered girl before handing over the dead body to her relatives for burial. The murderer husband managed to run away after killing his wife. Police in the area said they were looking for Ramzan but he had already succeeded in finding a safe escape.

Women get regularly killed by their husbands or brothers in Jaffarabad and Naseerabad districts on the name of honor. Hundreds of women have lost their lives so far in such cases of violence against women but the government and local NGOs have not been able to carry out such program to change social behaviors towards women.
