Two Levies Personnel Killed In Mastung

QUETTA: Two Levies personnel were gunned down in Dasht area of Mastung, some 50-kilometer from here, on Tuesday night.

Official sources said Levies personnel Mohammad Zaman and Noor Ahmed were manning the Levies check post in Umer Door near Dasht while they signalled a vehicle to stop for checking, they opened fire and fled with full speed. “Both the personnel received multiple bullet wounds on upper torso and died on the spot,” an official told this scribe.

The dead bodies were taken to Government Sandman Hospital for autopsy.

An official said that few minutes earlier of the incident, unknown persons kidnapped a contractor Abdul Bari from the same area thus there is possibility that the kidnappers opened fire on security personnel fearing their arrest. Levies Force mounted a search in the area for the arrest of culprits.

The local people of the area blocked the RCD highway protesting against the hostage-taking of Abdul Bari. The traffic was disrupted on highway till filing this news report. The protest caused massive traffic jam on both side the highway.
