Balochistan Situation Similar To East Pakistan: Sardar Akhtar Mengal

The Baloch Hal News

QUETTA: President of the Balochistan National Party and former Balochistan Chief Minister Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal has disclosed that his party’s slain secretary general Habib Jalib Baloch had been receiving threats to his life.

Sardar Mengal, while strongly condemning the killing of Habib Jalib, “very powerful” elements were involved in the target killing of the former senator and the killing was meant to dissuade the BNP from its struggle for the rights of the Baloch people.

” I had spoken to Jalib on the phone and he informed that he had been receiving threats,” he said, ” we do not expect any kind of justice from this government of fake degree holders.”

The former chief minister regretted over Islamabad’s unchanged policy in Balochistan by stating that the policies of the democratic government were more repressive in Balochistan as compared to those pursued by former military dictator General Pervez Musharraf.

“Even during the repressive regime of Pervez Musharraf, people were not killed on the roads. Now, the majority of the people killed on the roadsides are the activists of the BNP,” said Mengal.

The Baloch leader, who is currently on self-exile, said the situation prevailing in Balochistan was very similar to the one prevailing in East Paksitan (Bangladesh) in 1970s when government-baked groups were formed to kill the cream of the local society.

“No one should doubt the powerlessness of the current rulers,” he remarked, ” Those who came to power by using fake degrees cannot grant us justice.”

Pakistan Army and Intel Agencies have started repeating their heinous crimes committed in Bangladesh by eliminating intellectuals, politicians, teachers, doctors, and creams of the society. Now they have started it here in Balochistan, which was long expected, by eliminating top-most intellectuals and politicians, even those who are moderate and have opted for peaceful means of politics, Like Maula Bakhsh Dashti and Habib Jalib Baloch. Now the ground reality is that whether you struggle to save Pakistan or voice for Baloch rights you will not be spared as long as you are a Baloch. That only reason is enough to eliminate you. The earth on Shaheed Maula Bakhsh Dashti’s grave was still wet (tomorrow is the 3rd day of his criminal murder allegedly taken out by the same shadow organization but in reality in-service army personnel and their paid agents) that we had to carry on our shoulders the dead body of another Baloch intellectual-politician. Our shoulders are already tired because the state of Pakistan has been giving us for the last 63 years only the gift of dead bodies of our beloved leaders and politicians, and who knows who will be the next target – now I can imagine why Akhtar Jan is avoiding Pakistani soil. Pak army is believed to have formed commando teams with the task to eliminate all those Baloch who can think and form opinions. It appears they have been given this urgent task as the time seems to be slipping out of their hands and they want the job done in no time. Allah wat khair bikant.
