QUETTA: Prominent Baloch nationalist leader and the central secretary general of Balochistan National Party (BNP) Habib Jalib Baloch was laid to rest on Wednesday afternoon at his ancestral graveyard in Quetta.
The Baloch leader was shot dead by unidentified attackers at Musa Colony of the provincial capital, an incident which triggered massive violence and angry reactions across Balochistan.
Thousands of BNP activists and political leaders from different parties attended the funeral. However, no minister or senior official from the government side joined the funeral of the veteran Baloch leader.
The murder of the Baloch leader has been strongly condemned by Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, Governor Balochistan Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi, chief minister Nawab Mohammad Aslam Raisani and several top government officials and opposition leaders.
