Lawyers To Besiege Governor’s House, CM House On July 5 Over Kidnapping Of Colleague

QUETTA, July 2: Balochistan Bar Association (BBA) has announced complete boycott of court proceedings on July 5 and laying siege of Governor House and Chief Minister’s Secretariat against non- recovery of Munir Ahmed Advocate who was abducted from Khuzdar some two weeks ago.

President BBA flanked by other office bearers, announced this while addressing a press conference, here on Friday.

Baz Muhammad alleged that government had badly failed to stop the incidents of extra-judicial arrests, kidnappings for ransom and ensure safety to the masses. He said that unknown armed people kidnapped Munir Ahmed Advocate and after lapse of several days, the local  administration had failed to trace the whereabouts of abducted lawyer.

He said that lawyers from July 5, would boycott all court proceedings as protest against non-recovery of Munir Ahmed advocate and warned that if he was not recovered, lawyers would widen their protest throughout the country and would lay siege to the Governor House and CM secretariat.

To a query, he said that some invisible powers were challenging lawyers and judiciary but they would not hesitate to render scarifies for the release of their fellow lawyer as they had played a revolutionary role for the independence of judiciary during the two years.

Baz Muhammad said that police and other investigation agencies had completely failed to find out Munir Ahmed despite passing of more than two weeks. “Role of police is doubtful as it is backing criminals and lawyers would not tolerate such action”, he alleged.

Responding to another question, BBA president said that consultations were continue with Supreme Court Bar Association and other lawyers’ bodies in this regard while a meeting of Supreme Court was also being held which would decide the future course of action.
