NP Announces 3-day Mourning Over Killing of Dashti
QUETTA: The National Party has announced three days of mourning and complete shutter down across Balochistan against the killing of former chairman of the Baloch Students Organization (BSO) and ex-district nazim Kech, Mir Maula Baksh Dashti.
Dashti, a central National Party leader, was shot dead by unidentified persons on Sunday in his native Turbat district. Another two of his colleagues received serious bullet injuries in the same shootout that killed Dashti.
The killing of Dashti has been widely condemned by the National Party and its activists. His nimaz-e-Jhanaza will be held in Shahi Thump at 11:00 am on Monday.National Party central president Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch and other key party leaders are expected to attend his funerals.
The National Party has termed the killing of Dashti as the loss of a great political teacher.
Leaders of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam have also condemned the killing in their respective statements issued to the media.
Meanwhile, the Washington-based American Friends of Balochistan has also condemned the killing of Maula Baksh Dashti.
In the meanwhile, the National Party’s central public gathering which had been scheduled to take place in Gwadar on July 15th has been postponed for an indefinite period owing to the killing of its key leader.
