Thousands Of NATO Trucks, Tankers Stranded On National Highway
MASTUNG/KALAT: Thousands of NATO containers and oil tankers were stranded on the RCD national highway on Saturday for the third consecutive day as farmers’ strike against load-shedding intensified.
According to the reports coming from Mastung, protesting farmers blocked the National Highway at Kaad Kocha, Mangocher, Dasth and Kolpur areas to prevent the supplies meant for NATO troops from reaching their destination in Afghanistan.
The protesting farmers have established a special camp on the national highway in order to ensure the blockade of the road for NATO supplies from the National Highway. The farmers believe they can pressurize the government to meet their demands to supply them more electricity by disrupting all forms of supplies to NATO forces so that the latter urges Islamabad to meet their demands.
“We been laying at different hotels or open grounds, waiting for the past two days to see the reopening of the highway which has not happened yet even on third day,” a driver told The Baloch Hal.
Similarly, the National Highway was also blocked in Kalat in the wake of the ongoing protest by the farmers.
