QUETTA: At least 13 people were killed and 25 others sustained injuries when a Karachi-bound passenger coach overturned near Uthal in Lasbela district on Thursday.
According to reports, the incident took place in Piprani area of Uthal town when a passenger coach overturned due to over speeding.
Resultantly, 13 people died on the spot while 25, including women and children, suffered multiple injuries.
The police squad and rescue workers rushed to the spot soon after being informed about the incident and took the dead bodies and injured to district headquarters hospital Uthal. Some of the injured also stated to be in critical condition.
The deceased were identified as Faiz Al dine, Ali Khan, Shaukat Ali, Hyder Ali, Akhtiar, Muhabat Khan, Mohammad Rahim, Athah Mohammad and name of five deceased could not be ascertained soon.
“The majority of the victims belonged to interior Sindh and were going to celebrate Eid ceremony,” Dr Hakim Lasi at hospital told this scribe via phone.
The incident took place due to over speeding; a police official said adding that investigations were underway. The dead bodies had been shifted to their ancestral town.
