QUETTA: Three NATO oil tankers have been set on fire in Mongechar area of Kalat district, some 200 kilometer of southeast of Quetta, on Saturday.
According to official sources, three oil tankers, carrying fuel for NATO forces stationed in Afghanistan, heading towards to Kandahar from Karachi when a group of armed men opened fire on them on RCD highway in Mongechar. The perpetrators took the drivers and cleaners hostage and sprinkled patrol and set them ablaze. All the three tankers were completely destroyed and personnel of law enforcement agencies rushed to the spot on delay of 30 minutes. Assailants managed to flee from the scene.
A case has been registered in Mongechar Police Station and investigations were underway.
It mention that in past few weeks more than 20 NATO oil tankers set on fire on same route but no organization claimed the responsibility.
