KALAT: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), an underground armed group that is fighting for the independence of Balochistan, has issued a fresh warning to all Balochs via an open letter sent to the journalists of Kalat asking every Baloch not to work for the intelligence agencies of the state for which they could be punished.

BLA’s fresh warning letter has said that no nation in the world can live and survive without a country. The Baloch sarmachars (freedom fighters) are struggling for the independence of Baloch land but some local people are collaborating with the state and serving as informers and spies to create hurdles for the Baloch freedom fighters. They have to give up working for the secrete services as the BLA is already informed about their activities. A campaign would soon be launched against all the informers.

“BLA will not give up any informer. We know how to remove local informers from our way towards independence. We strictly warn all Balochs working for ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence), IB (Intelligence Bureau) and MI (Military Intelligence) to refrain from their activities,” said the BLA letter, warning, “otherwise, the fate of the remaining informers would be similar to policemen Zahoor Shah and Dakthulla.”

KALAT: A member of Catholic Education Board was injured in firing by unknown persons between Mangochar and Kalat Tuesday.

According to details, Anthony, a member of Catholic Education Board, was going to Khuzdar form Quetta today when unknown armed men in a bid to snatch his vehicle between Mangochar and Kalat along RCD highway opened fire in which Anthony was injured.

In the meanwhile, Levies force reached the site and accused ran away from the scene.

Injured Anthony was brought to Kalat hospital for treatment.

KALAT: Two persons were injured when unknown armed men opened fire at a container on Kalat National Highway near Sangandas on Friday evening.

According to local police, the container carrying goods for NATO forces in Afghanistan was fired at by unidentified armed men. As a result, its driver Ghulam Sarwar and conductor Abdul Aziz were injured. They were rushed to district headquarters hospital. They belong to Khyber Pakhtunkhawa.

A case was registered at Kalat police station.

KALAT, Dec 27: Two people were killed in Kalat district on Sunday in a dispute between two rival groups over a piece of land.

According to reports reaching here, an armed clash erupted between two groups in Mangochar area of Kalat district which resulted in death of two persons identified as Sher Dil and Chakar.

On getting information a contingent of police reached the site and cordoned off the area.

Police sources said the two tribes had been fighting over the land for some time now.

KALAT: At least five people, including two brothers, were killed in Kalat district on Friday in a tribal dispute over a piece of land between Nichari and Bangulzai Baloch clans, police said.
According to the details, unidentified persons, reportedly belonging to the Bangulzai clan, opened indiscriminate fire on a vehicle of members of rival Nechari clan near Mangocher town of Kalat district. As a result, four people died on the spot while another succumbed to his injuries in the local hospital.

The dead people were identified as Mohammad Zaman, Amanullah, Abdul Rasool and Habibullah. Another man, Hidayatullah, a brother of Amanullah who was killed earlier on the spot during the same incident, died at the hospital.

Police said both the clans had been in a state of conflict in the recent times over a piece of land in Mangochar town. However, the attackers managed to escape from the scene and police said it was hunting for the murderers. Local residents said a very tense situation prevailed in the area after the incident and local businesses were instantly shut due to widespread panic among the people. Police also cordoned off the area and started a search operation to trace the killers.

One of the killed persons, Amanullah, was also a local journalist by profession.
